I had the plan for dinner, Steak with potatoes and green beans. I got the steaks seasoned, the potatoes started in the microwave, and then discovered I didn’t have any green beans. I usually buy frozen green beans, but not today.
I like frozen green beans because they still have that crunch and don’t seem to need as much time to cook. I usually throw them in a few tablespoons of water or simply throw them into the microwave for a minute.
Since I didn’t have frozen I headed to the pantry to look for a can. I usually only use cans for bean salad, reminds me of my grandmothers bean salad, but I needed something green on the plate.
The butter and garlic, along with the crunch parmesan cheese made these green beans great. And by using the can, I didn’t have to cook them in water first. I just there them in the butter and garlic until they were heated through.
What You Need:
1 lb Green Beans
3 Tablespoons Butter
2 Minced Garlic Cloves
1 Cup Grated Parmesan Cheese
What To Do:
Place the green beans in a pot of boiling, salted water and cook until tender, About 10 minutes. In a separate pan, melt the butter and add the garlic. ( Make sure not to let the garlic burn) Drain the green beans and add them to the butter. Sprinkle with at the parmesan cheese and heat until the cheese melts. Any cheese that touches the pan will get crispy. The cheese that sticks to the beans will simply just melt.
